"It is said that you can pray to the Hivemother at these Altars to receive her blessing."

Hivemother Altars are part of a set of mysterious Hivemother objects that can be found scattered around the map. Altars allow players to use Idols to pray to the Hivemother for special effects.

Book1 Item.pngGeneral Info

There are 4 Altars that can be found in the world, with one in each Biome. Each Altar is accompanied by a Hivemother Gate within a sort of shrine-like structure. Each of the Altars spawns with a specific Idol based on the biome of the Altar (i.e. the Forest Idol in the Altar found in the Forest.

To use an Altar the player must put 3 Blessed bees in the Messenger slots along with one of the Idols. These 3 bees will then be "used up", flying out of the Altar to send your prayer to the Hivemother. Based on the Idol used different effects will occur.

  • All Hivemother "machines" are unique in the fact that they have small symbol text drawn onto the menu that gives a clue to its function.
  • The small symbol text on the Altar menus read: "PRAY TO THE HIVEMOTHER TO RECEIVE HER BLESSING" on the left-hand side, and "ONLY BEES THAT ARE BLESSED CAN SEND YOUR PRAYER" on the right-hand side
  • The bee shown on the menu matches the design of the Sacred Bee
