Crystals
"Crystal formed from the resonance of the nearby environments. Used to craft advanced automation."
Crystals are special crafting items made using Liquid Crystal in a Resonator. The "resonance" of the nearby area to the Resonator affects the Crystal that is formed. A Resonance Meter can be used to see what the resonance is for the area where the player is standing.
Once formed crystals can then be used at a Crystal Workbench as a major crafting component for most of the lite automation and endgame items.

There are 7 different crystals available in the game:
