"With BeeNet you can play with your friends online!"

What's better than playing APICO? Playing APICO with your friends of course! APICO comes with a multiplayer mode that allows you to "host" your world and have up to 3 of your friends come and join it!

Multiplayer is cross-platform, which can be turned on/off in the multiplayer menu when you host or join a game.

Game Mechanics

Hosting

To host a world, head to the Multiplayer menu and click "Host"! This will generate a unique 5-character code for this session that you can give to your friends to join your game.

Don't worry about trying to remember it, as it'll be shown in-game in the bottom-left corner.

Once you have your host code you'll be asked to select a world - this can be one of your existing worlds or you can create a new one. Once loaded you'll see your own name above your head that signifies you're in a multiplayer game.

If you need to view any of the joined players and kick/report them, you can do so from Settings > Multiplayer while in-game.

When you stop hosting the host code will no longer be valid, and you'll get a new code when hosting again!

Joining

To join a game, head to the Multiplayer menu and enter the host code of your friends world (they'll have this when hosting their game, and it'll be visible in the bottom-left corner of their game). Then click "Join" and the hosts world will be requested!

Once downloaded you'll be able to join the game - the name and colours you choose, along with your progress, will be saved locally so when you rejoin the same host you'll keep your progress. You can also clear this progress with "Reset Player" at any time.

Emotes

You can send emotes to other players with the buttons in the top-right corner! These will show next to your character to all other players in the game <3

Abuse

As games are not public, the only way you can have people join your game is by giving them your host code. If you don't know someone, we don't recommend giving them your host code.

If for some reason you have someone in your game you no longer want in your game you can choose to Kick or Report them from the Settings > Multiplayer menu.

Kicking someone will temporarily kick them out, but they'll be able to rejoin. Reporting someone will prevent them from rejoining that game.

When you stop hosting the host code will no longer be valid, and you'll get a new code when hosting again!
