"Where rusted wrecks float and sailors' dreams die, the Rusted Bee dances through the ocean's deep currents, serenaded by the song of whales."

Hints

Dive, and explore where ships are wrecked, and you will find this species..

When asking Dr Beenjamin BhD for a hint he says the following:
There are three different underground caverns that I've heard of, each of them seperated by quite a distance. I imagine over time different species evolved as the caves split into distinct areas...

Special Produce

When a Rusted Bee is used in a Basic Apiary and fills Frames, they can produce when extracted.

Cross-breeding

When Cross-Breeding the Rusted Bee with the following other species there is a chance for the offspring to mutate into a new species!

As with all mutations, the offspring of the hybrid queen needs to also be a hybrid, so this can effect the chances listed below.

Trivia

  • Underwater bees use the latin "Aqis" instead of "Apis", which is a pun on the latin word for water, "Aqua"
  • There are 3 different underwater caves in the game, Rusted Bees are only found naturally in one of them
  • The hint is misleading as there is actually a wreck in one of the underwater areas but the Rusted Bees are not inside it.
