"It is said in ages past, the Hivemother blessed the struggling islanders of the Archipelago with the Bee, heralding in a new era of prosperity and peace. The "Hermit" bee is an exceptionally rare example of these prehistoric bees."

The Hermit Bee is a Tier 3 Social Bee species found by cross-breeding.

The Hermit's cross-breeding criteria are unique in the fact that it can only be found by having no other active hives nearby.

Traits

These are the different Traits that the Hermit Bee can spawn with.

When a trait has multiple values one is picked randomly when the bee is created.

Lifespan Short, Normal

Productivity Slow, Normal

Fertility Infertile, Unlucky

Stability Unstable, Normal

Behaviour Nocturnal

Climate Tropical

This species is grumpy, and will need a Smoker nearby before being able to be worked with.

Hints

The Apiarist's Almanac gives the following hint:
A lonely species that can't stand to be near other bees. Only active at night and quite aggressive, thanks to its Caliginosus and Caligo ancestry..

When asking Dr Beenjamin BhD for a hint he says the following:
Hermit bees are a Misty-Murky hybrid that don't like my other bees being near them. They're definitely my favourite species of bee!

When a Hermit Bee is used in a Basic Apiary and fills Frames, they can produce when extracted.

Smoker

This species can be calmed with the following flowers:

Cross-breeding

When Cross-Breeding the Hermit Bee with the following other species there is a chance for the offspring to mutate into a new species!

As with all mutations, the offspring of the hybrid queen needs to also be a hybrid, so this can effect the chances listed below.
